Maui Marathon and Half Marathon

The Maui Marathon and Half Marathon is renowned for being one of the most scenic marathon courses in the world. Following the main route from Kahului to Ka’anapali, runners are treated to some of the most spectacular mountain and ocean views that Maui has to offer. This 26.2-mile course is recognized as one of the ten most scenic marathons in the USA as well as the oldest consecutive running marathon in Hawaii. A major portion of the course runs within 50 feet of the Pacific Ocean.

Comfortable weather conditions, a relatively flat course and world class resort facilities make the Maui Marathon not only a perfect place to run but also an amazing place to spend preparing for and recovering from the big race.

Course

All Maui Marathon events will start and finish in Ka'anapali. The marathon course is flat and fast and is a Boston qualifier. The turnarond will be around Papalaua Wayside State Park. 

The Maui Half Marathon is a flat, starting in front of the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Marathon:             5:00am in front of the Outrigger Ka'anapali Beach Hotel
Half Marathon:     5:30am in front of the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel
10km:                     5:45am in front of the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel
5km:                       5:55am in front of the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel

Time Limit

Marathon:           8hrs
Half Marathon:    4hrs

Race Pack Collection

The Maui Marathon Health and Fitness Expo will take place at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa, Valley Isle Ballroom, on Friday and Saturady. 

Friday:      12:00pm to 6:00pm
Saturday:   9:00am to 5:00pm

Please bring a valid ID. You can pick up for another runner if you have a valid ID plus a letter from the runner stating you are collecting the race packet on their behalf. 

Your race packet contains your bib number with an imbedded timing chip, your event tshirt and a Speed Cup.  

Aid Stations

There will not be cups on the tables. Volunteers will be filling your Speed Cup as you pass through the aid station. If you are carrying your own hydration bootle, vest or container you can refill at the stations. 

Finish Line

All finishers receive a medal, water, Gatorade and finish line snacks. 

Medals & Finisher’s Tshirt

A commemorative finisher’s medal will be given to all runners as they cross the finish line. Finisher’s shirts can be picked up at the Health And Fitness Expo on Friday and Saturday and sizes can be exchanged after races are completed if shirts have not been worn.

Race Day Shuttles

Shuttles will be from the Lahaina Civic Center to Ka'anapali Resort to get runners to the start and finish area. Shuttles will run continuously back and forward throughout the day from 3:30am until 1:00pm/ 

Bag Drop

Your personal items can be left at the start line, in a labelled, plastic bag. You can claim your bag at the finish line.

Medical

There will be a medical tent with full medical staff at the finish line helping anyone in need of assistance before, during and after the race. There are 4 medical tents on the course, located with Aid Stations 4, 9, 13 and 16. Medical vans will be on the course just in case runners need help during race or assistance to go back to finish line. 

Climate

You can expect the temperature to be in the mid 70's (23 celcius) at 5.30am and in the low 80’s (28 degrees) by 11am.
