Thursday 3 September

Arrival in Bordeaux (Friday arrival available)
Your race pack will be delivered directly to your hotel.

Friday 4 September

Arrival at your race hotel
OPTION: Dinner 1000 Pates - dinner, drinks, entertainment and music; transport included (limited availability). Bus returns to hotel at 22:30pm (arrive approx. 23:30pm)

Saturday 5 September

Early breakfast at your hotel
06:30am: Transfer to the start line at Pauillac by coach
09:00am Show and presentation of fancy dress at the start line
09:30am: Marathon start
9:30am - 11:30am: River bank happenings, games for supporters
11:45am – 04:00pm: Arrival of marathon runners
05:00pm: Return coach transfer to hotel

Sunday 6 September

Breakfast at your hotel. Departure or.....
OPTION: Relaxing walk followed by Lunch at a Chateau - lunch, wine, entertainment and music. Includes coach transfer (limited availability)
10:00am Start of the walk, approx. 10km

The Marathon du Medoc has become a marathon you “have to run” and has grown in popularity since its inception in 1984. The event is built on the four pillars of Health, Sport, Conviviality and Fun. The Marathon du Medoc is synonymous with the wineries of Bordeaux. Run past such seminal wineries as Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Chateau Mouton Rothschild, Beychevelles, Lynch-Bages, Pichon Longueville plus others.

The theme for the 40th Marathon du Medoc in 2026 is a Music Trip Through the 80's!

Despite the fun aspects of the race, the Marathon du Medoc is nonetheless a real Marathon, 42.195 km measured officially. The fantastic organisation and beauty of the course have placed it among the leading international marathons year in year out drawing an ever increasing number of foreign participants. You too can be part of the fun and be supported and cheered on by 3,000 volunteers and 100,000 spectators

Course

A single loop course, which winds its way round a stunningly beautiful circuit with over 50 chateaus.Approximately 24% of the course is off road. The course is closed to traffic.

Cut Off Time

6hrs 30mins.

Any runner who wants to leave the race will have to go to a radio spot, located every 2kms near the drink stations/medical tents. A shuttle will take you back to the finish line.

Medical

Tthe Medoc marathon offers comprehensive medical assistance with a team of 300 persons operating at 10 medical stations over the course and 5 specialized tents at the finish.

Awards (and Wine!)

At the finish line each runner is rewarded with a large number of gifts; tee-shirt, medal, sports bag, bottle of Medoc wine, surprise gifts, art print, refreshments etc.
