The annual Tassal Group Airlie Beach Marathon Festival is held in July, a beautiful time of the year to be running in Airlie Beach. It is a great opportunity to extend your stay and holiday in paradise and explore all that The Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef has to offer. The course runs along the foreshore from Airlie Beach to Cannonvale Beach via two marinas.

Airlie Beach is a beautiful tropical holiday destination in its own right and the home of two marinas that provide access to the Whitsunday Islands that are popular for sailing, fishing, diving and snorkelling. It is located 150km north of Mackay and 300km south of Townsville. The scenery and climate in Airlie Beach during July is ideal for competing in the marathon festival. The region is serviced by three airports (Proserpine – Whitsunday Coast, Hamilton Island and Mackay) for ease of access.
