The Rome Marathon is steeped in tradition, starting on the Via dei Fori Imperiali, in the shadow of the Colosseum. Run past famous Trevi Fountain, the Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon, St Peter’s, Piazza Venezia and cross the Tiber River (a number of times). The course is flat and there are some cobblestones along the way but the course really is something special!

Rome Tourist Tax

A tourist tax of €6 per person per night was introduced in 2011, this tax is not included in our prices as it is only payable by the individual on departure from the hotel (€4pp/pn for 2*/3* hotels).

Booking and Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of $350 is required to secure your Rome Marathon travel, entry and accommodation package.

Historians of our sport will know that this is where great Abebe Bikila won the Olympic Marathon in bare feet on the cobbled streets of Rome. You can follow in the great man’s footsteps on a traffic free route that takes you around all of the sights of the eternal city.

Pacers

Pacers will be supplied to run the following times: 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45 and 5:00 hours.

Cut Off Time

7 hours.

Baggage Service

Available. Instructions will be provided with your race pack.

Timing

All runners must wear their timing chip in accordance with the instructions provided. The timing chip does not need to be returned after the race.

Medical Assistance

Medical assistance is provided along the course. There will also be aid stations every 5km and an Emergency First Aid Station just off the finish area. 

Medical Certificate

Runners require a medical certificate from their doctor indicating that there is no reason for you not to take part in a marathon competition - we will send you the approved cretificate once your booking is received.
