The Great Ethiopian Run International 10km in Addis Ababa is a must-do running experience on the African continent. It’s Africa’s biggest road race with over 40,000 participants and has become known as Ethiopia’s annual street party – such is the noise, colour and excitement of the event. At its centre is its race founder Haile Gebrselassie who won the race’s first edition in 2001 and ran his last international race here before retirement in 2015. Many international participants extend their stay in Ethiopia for other tours in this fascinating country with a rich history and many ancient traditions.
